The response demonstrates clear evidence of independent research into the ways of thinking present in the module. There is evidence of reflection about the symbolic importance of characters from the chosen text. The response lists paradigmatic concerns from the era as well as bringing in arguments from outside the novel. These arguments need more integration with the text to strengthen their relevance. The character of Quoyle has inconsistencies between the response and the source text.
