Subway Rush consists of five consistently strong and very refined images dealing with transitions through time and space. The technical prowess and aesthetic stylisation of the images clearly communicate a sophisticated vision of the ephemeral nature of the everyday. Sensitive use of Photoshop layering, compositional selection and typography, reading as both text and form, allow for multiple interpretations of the body of work in terms of concepts and use of materials. The effective choice of a highly reflective perspex makes the viewer an amalgamated component of the work, physically melding conceptual and material practice through the viewer. The blend of visual language, technical mastery and aesthetic autonomy makes this an exceptional work.
