The translation in part (a) demonstrates some knowledge of vocabulary, grammatical structures and the relationship between words. It does not recognise the comparative forms and key words such as 'moribus', thereby reducing understanding of the structure and flow of the extract. The response to part (c) quotes many words from the extract but does not explain how they reflect the poet's intention.
