The response in part (a) deals in a general way with the patron-client relationship. It would have been enhanced by including more detailed references to the text. Greater focus on values and attitudes in part (ii) would have improved the response. Part (b) (ii) demonstrates understanding of the content of the extract, although there are few references to the Latin text to support the analysis.
