The reponse demonstrates an understanding of some of the themes of the module and elective but needs to translate these into a consistently creative response. The ideas are expressed in a straightforward and clear way and the tone is personal. There is evident engagement with some conventions such as the dysfunctional detective/murder investigation, as well as a connection to values. The response would be enhanced by employing a tighter plot structure and greater plausibility in order to effectively engage the reader and demonstrate a range of narrative conventions.
