Band 4/5 Response 1
Fugitive Moments Darlinghurst uses crisp, postcard and proof-sized black and white images on each panel to explore the play of light and shadow upon images of the inner city. The series uses a range of personal observational viewpoints to explore a momentarily deserted world. Strong shadows enhance the architecture and contrast with dappled light that romanticises the streetscape. Although the pictorial images are consistent and well composed, they do not demonstrate conceptual development. The repetitive nature of each panel limits the potential of the whole series, and the similarity of some images limits viewer engagement.
