The response to part (a) provides a detailed, accurate description of Speer's background and his rise to prominence. It is a well-structured outline that incorporates a wide selection of relevant events. Although the response is logical and substantial, it would be strengthened by the inclusion of more specific information in terms of dates and events. The response to part (b) attempts a judgement about historical interpretation of Speer, particularly about the issue of whether he knew about the Nazi's anti-Semitic policies. The information is relevant and accurate but the answer would have been strengthened by the presentation of further historical interpretations.
