The response demonstrates a high level of analysis of the role of the media in the development and perpetuation of the popular culture of surfing from a local to a national to a global level. It makes a sound judgement about the value of the role of the media in this process and this judgement is supported by a range of accurate and appropriate examples. The structure of the response is logical and the application of course concepts is effective throughout.
