Rainforest, Macquarie Pass is a series of scenic and close-up images consisting largely of vertical views of forest roads and flowing water. Despite some investigation of light and shadow, the concept is largely driven by subject matter and location. Some of the images are sharp and there is evidence of a basic knowledge of the principles of composition and darkroom practice, although the printing lacks refinement in terms of tonal graduation and sensitivity. The series has little or no focal point, with viewfinder selection restricted to obvious subject matter.
