One Day I'll Fly Away consists of three birdcages and three photographs. Each cage has found objects placed on the bottom to represent the daily grind: laundry, washing up, and make-up. The photographs add another dimension to the work showing some successful manipulation of imagery to create a reference between the cages and photographs. They also strengthen the concept, as the found objects are very literal and obvious. Aspects of the work are sensitive and well-connected, although the use of the space in the cages has not been fully exploited.
