Band 5/6 Response 1
Life's Little Collections is a series of black and white photographs on four panels. Each panel includes a photographic portrait accompanied by associated or related imagery and relevant text. The warm tones of the fibre paper and the intimate still life observations reflect the character of the chosen sitters. The still life objects themselves take on a personality and are organised within a dimension of time and place to add further levels of interpretive meaning. Each photo essay displays technical proficiency and discrimination. The photographs display a sympathy for the subjects and the personal dialogues are reiterated not only by the text but by the associated intimate investigation which represents far more than a traditional portrait series.
