The translation in part (a) demonstrates knowledge of Latin vocabulary, but does not use the vocabulary provided to good effect. The translation does not recognise the ablatives of comparison nor the meaning of some key words such as 'hic' and 'moribus'. As a result, the translation does not show awareness of the structure and flow of the extract. This awareness is also needed for the response to part (c).
