The response demonstrates a detailed knowledge and understanding of the poems. Initially the emphasis is on the stated emotion with little development of its significance. There is more synthesis in the exploration of the second poem but the response remains unbalanced. Ideas are well substantiated and there is a clear, personal engagement with the poetry.
