The response demonstrates sound knowledge and understanding of concepts in relation to arithmetic series. It shows some understanding of applications of differentiation. The response uses logical reasoning in numerical contexts in the solution of problems. Greater understanding of exponential functions and knowledge and skills related to interpreting the intersection of graphs, as well as more detailed working, would have enhanced the response.
