The response demonstrates knowledge and understanding of concepts in relation to probability. It shows some knowledge and understanding of an appropriate approach to determining the volume of a solid of revolution. The response successfully obtains the solution to the first part of the question involving applications of calculus to the physical world. Accurate application of manipulation skills would have enhanced the response.
