The response demonstrates some knowledge and understanding of concepts in relation to real functions and applications of differentiation. It demonstrates appropriate approaches in the solution of problems. A sound understanding of functions representing semi-circles and correct application of calculus concepts, together with appropriate algebraic procedures, would have enhanced the response.
