The response to part (a) provides a substantial selection of the main features of Speer's rise to prominence but would be strengthened by a more comprehensive description of his background. The answer incorporates adequate and accurate historical information, but a more formal approach would have been beneficial. The response to part (b) attempts a judgement of Speer's role in history but it would have benefited from a less informal tone and more specific detail in terms of dates, historical perspectives and events presented. The answer is supported by adequate historical information.
