Gran's Attic is a shrine of memory and family in the form of an installation. The work attempts to represent relationships and identity and evoke a sense of the past through family heritage. Gold paint and shellac have been used to unify the surface and suggest the past. The concept of memory and family heritage is presented literally and without further manipulation or investigation. Although the concept is attentive in its approach to manipulating the memorabilia in order to reinforce the notion of age and memory, the selection and use of found objects has not been fully explored.
